What's sadder?

1. the wine on the Eurostar (to Bruxelles via Lille-Europe) is served in plastic bottles (which remind me of the Franzia supplied by US)

or

2. the wine is from Italy (on the same train, to Bruxelles via Lille)

#1 is no better or worse than cognac in a plastic cup. What's important is in the cup.

#2 might be a problem.

I suppose it is a good thing that the French Customs and Agriculture authorities are on the lax side of things...

Greetings from the MSP SC, where I have renewed my membership. I should keep track of how many beers I drink on Delta's dime this year - so far 2 in 30 minutes

If I am back in GNV this weekend, can never tell when in BWI, and if your friend doesn't have you tied up do you want to meet for dinner?
Will let you know - we might be driving back from the Coast that night (our plans aren't fully set).

As long as the wine is consumed in Italy then it is good, unlike Riunite which was so bad no Italian would drink it so the Italians exported it to the USA.

Why would have have French authorities in LAX? They do a bad enough job at CDG.

I made a good amount of money on US Air a few years ago (I know shocking). I'm currently holding AirTran at 100+% gains not ready to sell yet .

Hello from JAX where the smurfs are conducting random hand swabs after entering the security line and before the actual security checkpoint.
Theoretically, one has to complete all screening procedures once entering said line

Looks like my automated sell order @ $14/share took place.

Looks like I made some decent $$ on the stock too.
Over the long term, I ascribe to the Warren Buffett theory of airline stocks.

As of lunch today, I had "0 shares of BZ". Sold at $5.99 a share. Folks over in the Penalty Box know I paid less than 30 cents a share in 2009.

Sounds like a worthy endeavor. I just upgraded to the Reserve card instead of buying a SkyClub membership and could set a similar goal ... Could easily drink $25 in alcohol per month (not counting the additional 10k MQM and 10k RDM in Miles Boosts per year)

Nice profit! What is that theory?

I wish I had bought 10,000 shares instead of an order of magnitude less

And according to the Oracle of Omaha:

I made the comment that if a capitalist had been present at Kitty Hawk back in the early 1900s, he should have shot Orville Wright. He would have saved his progeny money.

But seriously, the airline business has been extraordinary. It has eaten up capital over the past century like almost no other business because people seem to keep coming back to it and putting fresh money in.

You've got huge fixed costs, you've got strong labor unions and you've got commodity pricing. That is not a great recipe for success.

I have an 800 (free call) number now that I call if I get the urge to buy an airline stock. I call at two in the morning and I say: "My name is Warren and I'm an aeroholic." And then they talk me down.
