It's a very very slow day in Delta-land when a lowly FO clears the upgrade 24+ BOS-ATL, for the 7am flight tomorrow.

Hello from DL2547 that was delayed nearly 2 hours (it was more than that but I'll go with DL.com's time) because our original plane went mechanical. This is what I get for for avoiding JFK and flying LGA-ATL instead. I flew into JFK this morning without issues but of course my LGA flight out goes mech. Supposed 9:33 PM arrival with a 9:51 PM connection. Looks like I'll be hanging out in ATL tonight (maybe I'll actually leave the airport for the first time EVER).

Love it when I can get someone to pay for my McCormick and Schmick's visits. I do recall sitting in the same booth on my last visit. Oh - I get an extra food selection for having my loyalty card on the table ^
Beginning to think I need to SDC to get an upgrade out of LAS on Thursday - looks like a tough day overall ...

Finally back in Rhode Island after the adventure that is MEX. Now, I'm going to unpack my suitcase, and repack it for my adventure tomorrow up to PQI--which is operated by that lovely *A carrier US (it'll give me a reason to use the US lounge and enjoy the Franzia once more).

I think I have a new favorite quote from someone at the airport..
From the woman talking way to loud on her cell phone at gate A1 at SMF..
"Yeah.. did I tell you I'm not allowed to fly jet blue anymore? The stewardess was getting in my face so I hit her.. they arrested me"

Speaking of arrests tonight...
As I was heading home from the restaurant tonight (on a one-way street), some bozo decided to go the wrong day down the street. Little did they know that there was oncoming traffic - which just happened to be Minneapolis' finest. That was a quick blue-light special.

On both of the TPAC flights, I had the ultimate in discounted lie-flat seating: 4 empty 747 seats -- just flip up the armrests & catch 8 hours.
3 segments were in E+.
MEL-SYD was in E- but with an entire row to myself.
Only one jerk GA in SFO refused to upgrade me to E+, and in retrospect it appeared he wanted me to pay $40 to upgrade to an E+ middle seat; I'll keep my E- aisle seat, thank you.
The FA's & meals were both better than Delta. The 747 safety video was a bit lacking: The female FA who did the lead-in segment on it looks like an alien; give me Deltalina any day!
Overall though CO/UA is looking good vs. DL/NW.
