Think of it as a departure tax.

Yeah, very disappointed for Abby that she doesn't usually on the aviation forums very often. She is very extremely busy but, she does not have enough time on FT forums. That's why her life are very hectic.

Indeed anyone who does not have enough time in his/her life should spend more time in FT. It's one of the basic tenets of personal time management.

It's been used in a number of posts in this thread but it will be a while before I can reread all 57,964 of them.
The word is NWA Loyalist, aka Snark.

Sorry but Dov already provided the answer.

With regard to NW vs. DL, it could be argued that the Luddites are DL for not using NW's more advanced systems and for sticking with Fred & Barney Ticketing, Ltd.

Pre-departure tax, as one also gets charged well away from the state line.

How to read a DL manifest?

Yes yes I know "security violation" and all but cmon they had it plastered up in plain view with band-aids while I was stretching and waiting to use the forward lav.

So I'm scanning and see a lot of acronyms "MM" "EM" "Elite" "Elite Plus" around several names.

e.g.: Smith- MM / Elite Plus

There were other things but I don't recall that I figure had to do with Sky Club members, DL credit card holders etc.

Any thoughts as to what these mean or how to translate?

Yup, we all are curious about those manifests, but you have to be discreet.

MM- Million Miler
Elite- FO- Silver medallion or GM- Gold Medallion or equivalent on a skyteam partner airline
E+ =PM (platinum) or DM (diamond) or equivalent on a skyteam partner airline
FT- FlyerTalker- warning to the FA's (Flight Attendants) that the passenger is a major royal PITA know-it-all.

So, welcome to the club!

Without going to OMNI/PR, some would say the Jersey government is worse than the mob ...

Welcome to the Lounge™, trollark. Everything you read in this thread is absolutely, unequivocally true, and we are all real people except for Gargoyle. At one point I wasn't so sure about Canarsie, but Lehava has assured me that he is real, too.

The notations on the manifest are related to your karma rating -- the more notations, the higher your karma. Once the gate agent has ascertained your karma level, they just make up whatever alphabet soup they feel expresses it.
