Impromptu MR

I was to fly from BNA to CVG this afternoon, but the flight was overbooked. All other direct flights (as well as those connecting through ATL) were full. Being resourceful (and nuts), I suggested that the agent could route me via SLC and LAS, taking the red-eye back to CVG. He was just thrilled to get a volunteer in such a situation I guess. I got $400 DL$, two meal vouchers, and was re-booked in F (sweet...1.5X MQMs) on all three flights. I'm sitting in the SLC CRC right now (first time here - it's a beautiful lounge)...just waiting to take off for LAS. I even have enough time to gamble a bit there. I have to say I was impressed with Shuttle America...nice plane, great crew. So...500 MQMs and 1000 skymiles turned into 5,372 MQMs and 8,953 (or so I figure) skymiles! Plus $400 to earn more miles. I must be nuts, but it sure feels productive!

Modesty demands that I state that I am simply one of the peons who work at the Corn Roast Stand. I've only been there for 18 years with the Lions Club. We have members who have been roasting corn for 35 years and more. I was in charge for one year a few years ago, but we hand that job off every year. But we never could run the stand without the hundreds of volunteers who help the 45 members of our club every year.
But yes, it is interesting to see the amount of Cholula used on Corn on the Cob. In fact, this year I was at Milwaukee Summerfest, and the Roast Corn concessionaire there was also supplying hot sauce (albeit an inferior brand of Cajun sauce, not the T****** brand.)
An interesting side note is that our Lions Club had our annual Parade of Checks Wednesday night. We gave away $75,500.00 to a variety of charitable groups, in addition to the over $50,000.00 given away earlier this year, bringing the total charitable donations from over 40 years of running the Corn Roast stand to over $4,000,000.00. One of the door prizes we gave away at the dinner was a Cholula hat and T-shirt that was won by a Director of the Wisconsin Lions Foundation who's day job is Assistant Director of Security at General Billy Mitchell Field (MKE to those of us on Flyer Talk.) And he didn't know about the Travel Security Forum here on FT or that Cholula the Man is a moderator there. Maybe I can get him interested in making some contributions to the Travel Security Forum now that he has Cholula wear.

Are you nuts man???????????? You would throw a newbie, and someone you like at that, to the snakes over there as their first intro to FT. Oh man you must have a death wish *smile*

If you ever make it back to the Wisconsin State Fair, send me a PM before you go. I may be able to meet up with you.

Wrongo.
We're leaving tomorrow for 9 days of sun, sand, whale sightings and Banana Rumbrellas™ poolside on Maui .
On the 17th of February we'll be headed to the ELP DO to meet up with old and new FT friends.

That's right, I've been improving my cooking skills and tomorrow I go to a cooking class, since we are all having dinner at my house, and don't want to kill you all

Hey, if you want to kick back and relax, I'll do the cooking. Seriously.
Regardless, we're looking forward to it.

I have half a dozen 2004-2005s which were headed to the trash until I noticed this stuff. Forget about Coupon Connection. This gang has trashcan priority for something like this and anybody here who wants them gets them if they send a PM with a mailing address.
