What's with the $ symbol? I thought we were bidding in Skypesos. If it's really dollars, is the currency US, CAN, AU, NZ, SG, etc.? This is so confusing, when the Skypeso to Speedo exchange rates just depend on status and AmEx to convert through giftcards.

The latter definition is a corruption as reflected in the dictionary's explanation of the origin of the word:

There are no "posted" job openings. Anything not already on the list is a potential job. But, if you don't want any joking/funny/childish stuff, you don't want a Lounge job! Seriously, getting a position in the Lounge requires some initiative - either you create the job & post your qualifications or someone else does it for you.
After careful, thoughtful and thorough consideration, we've decided that you cannot be burderned by a 3rd milestone.
Accordingly, we are putting milestone 64,000 up for bid until 5 p.m. CDT tomorrow (that's U.S. Central, Dov -- sorry). As soon as Chancellor of the Exchequer Cornelius Chatsworth Cholula the III, a man renowned within the Lounge™ for financial integrity (*rofl*) and acuity, indicates that the bid amount has been deposited, the milepost status will be updated to reflect the name of the high bidder.
The funds shall remain on deposit, subject to annual fees, with Cornelius Chatsworth Cholula the III until such time as the young 'un reaches the age of 21.
