He writes fiction. Not sure we should rely on anything he posts.

What's with the $ symbol? I thought we were bidding in Skypesos. If it's really dollars, is the currency US, CAN, AU, NZ, SG, etc.? This is so confusing, when the Skypeso to Speedo exchange rates just depend on status and AmEx to convert through giftcards.

The function of a dictionary has changed in recent years. They used to serve not only to tell you what a word means but also to demonstrate the correct way to use it.

Today, sadly, they serve only to tell you what a word means no matter where you might find it -- even if used by someone who has no idea of what it should mean.
Are you suggesting that we believe your opinion over a published and (often respected) dictionary like the Oxford Dictionary???

While I agree with you statement regarding the function of a dictionary, what is the alternative???

You should always believe my opinion, on any subject, over that you hear or read anywhere.

The only alternative I can offer is to read the dictionary very carefully. Look for the roots of a word and pay attention to the order in which definitions are listed.

Even these steps, of course, are not always fool-proof.

(Cholula, of course, is the fool who proves it.)

That's the mantra of quite a few FT'ers and particularly many of the regulars in OMNI/PR.

The most interesting one is Gargoyle, who in addition to never admitting he was wrong about anything has also never been right about anything.

I'm ambidextrous. I can be right and left at the same time. I'm glad you are so liberal in acknowledging that fact.

Just bid. Shuddup & bid. Cholula will figure out what you've paid. Maybe.

Just to keep things moving along, we've entered a bid of (Whatever)64,200 on your behalf.

All that's in the estate are the Mileposts. Not to worry.

Methinks you're confused. Please just take care of the two mileposts that are already in your care. It could be a long 5 years.

Just because someone wants you to tag along with their antics, doesn't mean you have to listen to them.

As soon as Chancellor of the Exchequer Cornelius Chatsworth Cholula the III, a man renowned within the Lounge™ for financial integrity (*rofl*) and acuity, indicates that the bid amount has been deposited, the milepost status will be updated to reflect the name of the high bidder.

The funds shall remain on deposit, subject to annual fees, with Cornelius Chatsworth Cholula the III until such time as the young 'un reaches the age of 21.

No, it is 9 pm in TLV. Mommy lets me stay up until 11 if it isn't a school night.
