No, they are useful for emergencies, at least they used to be when I could get a flight for 25K. I had to spend 50K (cleaned out my wife's account ) for a Saturday funeral run.

Once again, however, the offerings (CO/UA/US) that I could book with *A miles were incredible compare to the SkyPesos program. SkyPesos just doesn't make the cut. Since this trip is starting in ATL & I had some time restrictions so as not to miss DO activities, I was in a bit of a bind.

Tragically, it is not so obvious.

There is an equipment change in ATL, where your domestic 763 will transmogrify into a 77E.

No BE seats, but better than riding in coach and at least you will have IFE.

Really? Is that aircraft has been changes without notices?

Employment ??? Where to post?

I have what might be considered a possibly "touchy" subject about employment, but I have to ask. Are there Delta people who read these forums that might give some insight??

I applied for 2 different positions. 1st one with Delta directly, Gate Agent. 2nd with Delta Global, wheelchair assistant.

I live in Memphis where there are lots of pilots, whose wives I know through my ladies golf league. They all know (but think I'm crazy) for wanting to do this. But here is where it gets "dicey". Most are either natives, or have lived here long enough to say I will NEVER, EVER get a position, especially the wheelchair pusher, as I am not the "right" ethnicity.. I asked how one knows someones "ethnicity" just from the application, and they tell me its "subtle" but they can tell.

Am I naive, or stupid, or gullible? I went to the airport, as instructed after I was told there were openings, the airport authority receptionist called into the Delta Global office (which is past security) had a short conversation, which I couldn't hear, and then was told they were not seeing anybody.

Please move this to any forum that it might belong, but I really would like some thoughts....

I don't know anything about it but Scott6067 just landed a job with DL in BNA and I am sure that he would be willing to share some of his experiences with you.

Contacting him by FT PM should get a quick response.

It's a 767-300. Has DL completed the transition to the new B/E seats or are they still running some aircraft with the old style seating?

Either way the seats will be nicer than regular FC seats and a damn sight nicer than our transcon flight on WN last week.

PS: Ooops...I note that there is a change of planes in ATL to a 777 for TLV. Same flight number but different aircraft. So maybe our flight won't be configured internationally. But I'm still curious if DL has completed the changeover to the lie-flat seats.
I don't think DL has even made a good start on re-doing (no pun intended) the 767s.

If you look at your 767 seating charts, you can tell whether it's domestic or international configuration. All are 2-2-2 in FC/BE, but the domestic birds have 4 rows while international has about 6 rows. I've been in both and the bins are different too, although both seem to have the gray leatherlike seats and small/limited AVOD. I like bulkhead on international but wouldn't want it on the domestic configuration. People here complain about the domestic 767s, but I had one recently on MSP-LAX and I didn't mind it. I was in the fourth and last row in the center section, so an aisle with no one climbing over me. It was much better than the international 767 with blue cloth seats that DL uses for the MSP-CDG route.

For the gray leatherlike seats on 767s, my impression is that when the seat is upright, the domestic and international versions are the same, in particular the same width. In recline, however, international seats have much more space (pitch), recline, and footrests.

Is this the impression of others? Has anyone flown the domestic and international configured 767s back-to-back for a good comparison?

I understand that Dov may be bringing one in his baggage along with tons of chocolate, dead sea scrolls and mud, and other various unmentionables for the ladies.

You might start with this web site: I've encountered countless minorities working for Delta.

If you really think there's a problem, contact your local EEO or civil rights office. If they concur, they likely will send out "testers" to apply for the same positions.

No, I wasn't feeling good this morning. Went back to bed for 5 more hours and then got up. Feeling a bit better now, but not 100%. Glad that you got to Switzerland and that everything is going good.

Is the perceived problem that Stan1162 is a minority or that he is not a minority? If he isn't a member of a protected group, I doubt that the EEO would be interested.
