*sigh* some days I question both the competence and the comprehension of Americans.

When did discriminating against others become acceptable?

Just people in general. I love how I tend to see the most hate spewed from people who suggest that hate shouldn't be spewed.

Today's example when discussing this topic: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/delta...l#post15128664

"because most idiots voting republican in flyover states are intellectually inferior to us coastal elites"

No way will I ever stop fighting. It's a constant battle of cat and mouse with me and the local transportation department.

I park on city streets. Yes, I could rent a spot, but to the tune of at least $100 a month, if there's one even available in my area. Don't know, haven't looked because parking on the street costs me about half that. I accept that I'll take on average a little over a parking ticket a month. That doesn't mean I should pay a ticket that I received erroneously.

The problem is, they will never, ever admit they're wrong. I won today (take that!!!), but the hearing officer still said they were letting it go as a favor.

do the "i voted" icons stand for this past election, or a flyertalk-related vote?

Where can you rent a parking spot for $100 a month where there may not be "one even available?" In places like the Arizona desert you could get one for that or even less but there are plenty available there.

Question: On the 767-300 (the version with four FC rows), do you enter the plane in front of FC (near the cockpit) or behind FC (in front of Y)?

Same question for the 757-200 (Transcontinental configuration) -- the one with 7 FC rows on the left and 6 on the right). Where do you enter the plane?

Allow me to translate fo the apparently getting a bit aged and crotchety -

Were I to rent a parking space in my area, I would expect to pay at least $100/mo.

Of course, it's of no actual concern to me as I am happy to park on the street, so I can't speak for the availability of parking spaces either in my very congested residential neighborhood or in Arizona.

I've never entered or exited any version of a 767 other than by the front door.

And I've rarely entered or exited any version of a 757 other than by the middle door. Occasionally you'll park at a gate where they are not able to hookup the jetway to the center door for some reason. But 95% of the time I've gotten on and off through the center door.

On both planes (of varying flavor) I have entered and exited both the front and middle door. Sometimes, as in the 75, I've entered and exited through different doors on the same flight. I've even heard FA's saying they don't know what door will be used for deplaning. I'm very certain it has to do with the airport and there's almost no way to know ahead of time.

That said, I, and I believe the FA's prefer the center door to be used for ease of operation.

IIRC the 767-400 has a mid-cabin door available for boarding.

Good morning from Perth--where it is 55 degrees. So far, yesterday was amazing, especially since the water at the dive site was clear.

Today's journey is going to take me Eastbound to hiking around the outback on the Bibbulmun Track--mainly a small portion of the 965km trail. But, I am going to be back in Perth relatively early today as I am going to be taking a bushplane up to Exmouth to do some diving in Ningaloo.

The only issue that has arisen is that QF won't allow for seat assignments on the CityFlyer. But, on another note, the Longitude 131 is at least going to have transportation from Uluru/Alice Springs Airport to the park.
