Great pics. I have always wanted to be there in person to see a launch but as you know it's hard to plan around launches. Thanks for sharing!!!

Missy64, we should not restrict ourselves. I already have more than two positions in mind for us.

Is it Dark Chocolate?

Dark Chocolate can be very healthy for a person.

I will need to know about the fun things in the kitchen to keep the Lounge guests informed.

Before the Challenger explosion, I finally got lucky.

After 3 previous attempts to watch a shuttle launch (the 3rd time I was actually in the car on the Bee Line with a 12 pack of beer and a bucket of KFC when they announced the scrub), I got to watch a 3AM launch from the Holiday Inn parking lot in Titusville.

I was just accross the water from the tower. I had VIP Media and Photo passes to go on to the base, but the hotel manager (and the photo store owner both said the view was better at the HI and that iy wouldn't take 2 hours to get through security--at least 3 hours before the scheduled lift off....and they said that you cant leave the base for at least an hour after launch.....AND it would take 3-4 hours in traffic to leave)

I was close enough to feel the concussion waves of noise.

Spectacular.

I will try to find the pictures and scan (before I went digital) and post them

My the lounge has been busy this morning. I just got home from the shuttle launch and am catching up. I still have three pages to go but decided to pause here and respond.

Please, just call me The Secretary. I don't go for all that PC BS. I call a spade a spade...

Though in my line of business and all my industry contacts I was considering submitting a resume for entertainment director. That's it - my cabinet post -Secretary of Entertainment. So??

Nice pics, Traveller. I took a few shots from pretty much the same vantage point. I was in Satellite Beach. I was disappointed to not hear it. The rockets they shoot off cause white a racket up here. I wish I could have been at my condo which pretty much borders KSC, but I had some things to do down south this morning. I'll try and post the photos once I confiscate my camera back from Ms. tkey75

I keep saying I'd love to host a shuttle DO, but there's just no counting on NASA to get a shuttle off on schedule and the Ms. might get tired of people camped out here for so long. Let's really try next time, though. As long as I'm here and available It'd be my pleasure to host a Shuttle DO. When's the next launch?

That is admiralable for you to appoint me to that major position, but it is merely a private matter to me.

These and other content posted by missy64 has me more and more convinced that we may have actually found — dare I say this? — a female Dovster!...

...or, is Dovster a male missy64?!?

There is only one way to get an answer to this. When we are in FLL, Missy64 and I should be locked in a hotel room together. The first one who wants a break to get something to eat is the impersonator.

Here's how.

I'm somewhat of a NASA buff since going to spacecamp as a kid. I still have all the original manuals on how to pilot a shuttle from when I was in the Endeavor simulator.
