I might do that if it'll bump me over to the next reward level...but those songs are not iPod or Mac compatible. Not much value for me, but if it means a few thousand miles, I guess it'd be worth throwing away a couple bucks.

Oh, alchemista, I am attempting from a US IP address.

hotels.com?

Hi - just noticed in the terms that hotels.com is a participant in the promotion. Just wondering if anyone knows how to use this partner? Is there a link from the skymiles website (like for the skymall), or do you enter your skymiles card during the payment phase of hotels.com? (Or is it a misprint on Delta's part?)

A few questions--I have a hotel stay planned at Drury inn planned during the promotion period but will not have enough points to transfer over for miles (25000 points for 5000 miles) so I guess this stay will not help me in this promotion? Also, is it my understand that each car rental company listed counts as a unique partner so if I sign up for Budget's fastbreak and receive 1000 miles and then rent with Alamo I will receive 2 partner activities? Thanks and sorry if I didn't see this covered already.

I looked into buying miles and it shows the minimum of 1,000 miles costs $29.56 although the description only mentions the cost is $0.0275 USD per mile plus a 7.5% Federal Excise Tax. For those of you who have bought miles, what did you have to pay?

(1000*.0275)*1.075=$29.56
Those numbers are correct.

So they are. I must have added an extra zero before the .0275. This seems a little pricy just for another unique partner.

Each rental company counts as a unique partner. I have 4 so far with 3 more to go by mid Feb.

If that unique partner breaks one of the thresholds (3-6-12-20-25) then the cpm goes down.

11 partners = 6,000 bonus miles
12 partners = 12,000 bonus miles

incremental gain if "Delta buy miles" is your 12th partner:
6,000 + 1,000 = 7,000 miles for $29.56
$29.56/7000 miles = $0.0042 /mile or 0.42 cpm

if going from 19 partners to 20...
8,000 + 1,000 = 9,000 miles for $29.56
$29.56/9000 miles = $0.0033 /mile or 0.33 cpm

Either way it is pretty good.

I understand that, so I will wait until the end to see if it would put me into the next threshold. It seems that a lot of people have bought miles here at the beginning of the promo, which I did not understand at that price.

I actually bought miles because $29.xx for the equivalent of a non-MQM, short-haul round trip did not seem expensive to me. The miles posted within hours, so it was a sure thing.

On the other hand, I made a SkyMiles Shopping purchase and I am still not sure whether that actually "went through" the way it should.

I also do not have any rental car plans in the near future.

Right now I have six definite activities and three I am not sure about. If those three unsure ones post, I will go for 12 probably.

I use Skymiles shopping often. Most merchants usually post your miles within 2-4 weeks, but sometimes this isn't the case.

Just keep any email order confirmations and you can always request the miles through skymiles shopping customer. They're pretty good about posting the miles within 2 business days.

25K partner Bonus

I read the TC's for this promo, it states you only get one credit for many activities. When it states points.com it does NOT state one credit for that partner! Do multiple redemptions from points.com count as multiple transactions???? am I misreading this or does anyone know? thanx
