Hertz Vs. Avis - points?

Which is a better option between Hertz and Avis when it comes to points? I am currently a Hertz Gold with 7 rentals YTD - 2010. I do not see many points on my account - just 600+. I really do not car about upgrade. do like nice cars but have not had good experiences at EWR - Hertz. Does AVIS have a double dip points program (points for rental + Miles for Airlines) and good free rental certificate programs than Hertz?

I don't believe Avis or Hertz allow double dipping. I believe you have to be in Avis First to even start earning free weekend certificates and it takes 12 rentals or 35 days to reach that. Then you would only get a free weekend certificate after every fourth rental and they have a lot of blackout dates. I would prefer the Hertz points personally, but if you prefer miles, Avis has a good deal with the Delta Skymiles.

At Avis I can get up to 5,000 [lousy] Delta miles per rental. (and even more with Delta's current 50% bonus.) Last year I netted over 200k Delta miles by renting from Avis! The biggest con with the Hertz points is that one cannot use them for international rentals.
