Hertz Now Using Automated Telemetry for Fuel and Mileage?

Telemetry was used when I received my vehicle last Friday (2023 Toyota RAV4); the fuel level was listed at "23%" on both my printed and emailed rental agreement (needle was just under 1/4 tank). When I returned it today to the same station, the agent took the mileage and fuel level from me verbally (I stated "20%" as the fuel level). I suspect there's a concept of a grace (maybe +/- 5%) on the fuel levels.
