New Infiniti G35 rental policy?

I was told this evening that the Hertz rental policy has been changed for the G35. I was told that in order to rent this car, you reservation has to be specifically for this car. There will no longer be upgrades or exchanges for this car. Is this true?

If true, that sucks then. I have a rental upcoming for Saturday, and I was thinkin' of paying the upgrade to get it.

At places like MKE, how the heck can you request it specifically anyway? Sometimes, there's no option even for a Premium.

It seems to me that Hertz is changing policy that does not benefit most of their Gold members. I wonder if there are that many people that this new policy is going to be successful. I realize that there are people that rent the Presitge cars but most don't relying on UGs. I suppose it does not matter as I am bound to rent from Hertz. I have to say that their policies and customer service has become lower quality over the past couple of years.

In MEM, I always reserve F and find a Vic or TC in my spot. I ask for a G35 and get one, for an additional $15/day.

Who told you this? A rental location or the Hertz reservation line?

I imagine she's going to Prestige. I admit I was surprised when she was first classified as a YG - I'd think the new Maxima (in GLS form) would be that class.

It's a nice car, but I tend to prefer the Lincoln LS for performance and comfort - especially at the Prestige prices the G35 often goes for if you try and book it directly.

I had a G35 in PHX this past weekend and was told upon renting it that (hopefully just for that location) all the G35s were being returned to Hertz and I was probably going to be the last driver to have one in PHX.

Like I said, I hope that's not true.

I was told this by the evening station manager at Atlanta International Airport . She told me that a message on the computer screen stated as much when the G35 was pulled up. There had been no announcement from Hertz Corporate but the screen said it all.

How can you book a G35 directly? Never saw it on the Hertz website?

This decision was apparantly made this week. No notification on website, as I told the station manager in Atlanta. She said that the offices were not notified. She read a note on the screen when she pulled up a G35 for me. Then she told me she could not rent the car. After some discussion, I must have persuaded her to rent it to me. Viola, this might be my last G35.

Besides, what else do you expect from Hertz but a stealth announcement when a bad policy decision has been made. Pretty tacky.

A lady snatched up a nice G35 up right before me this mornin'. I didn't hear anything about not renting them unless you had a res for it specifically.

The CSR, a very helpful lady, woulda gave it to me for $30/day extra, which I could have handled since I got a sweet Mazda 6 w/sports package for $56 all in for two days anyway.

I'm *this* close to a G35....this close. I can smell it.

The new classification for the G35 is H class. I am sure that this will be a known policy in the near future.

What does "H" class correlate to in words?

I've been getting one as my PC upgrade from an "F" (Full Size / Taurus) every week for the last 4 weeks at IAH.

What "H" class means is that your G35 upgrade days are about over. This is unfortunate but this is where Hertz corporate decided to take this car. Sorry for the bad news. I wish I were wrong about this.
