With as long as they have spent on "value engineering," I hope it's not a Hyatt Place by the time it opens.

It's November now, almost the end of year. Have they resumed yet? Does anyone have recent photos of the site?

I only could take a picture when dark, hence I didn't post... so apologies for the bad quality
There has not been any progress since my stay in October '16 and now in October '17 due to all hotel construction being put on hold in PSP... and the Andaz far from being finished.. I think earliest Summer 2019 looking at the current state.

Perhaps marketing it as a modern day stonehenge and selling tickets to visit would help them raise enough cash to get it moving again.

cruising through PSP right now, and see zero action on-site

Hyatt website now says "slated to open in 2019"

Palm Springs officials said work would resume on the Andaz Hotel project this fall. Has it?

From the linked article, above:
The mayor said developer Lawrence Rael seemed to have continual problems with contractors and financiers. However, Moon said Rael confirmed to the city manager earlier this month that those issues had been taken care of.
And the check is in the mail

So it seems that financing is now secured for this 150 room ANdAZ, set to open "no later than January 31, 2019".
looking at the current state, this date is extremely ambitious, if not impossible.

I was there near the start of this month. There was indeed some activity and I talked to one of the workers.

The reason I talked to him was that some blueprints fluttered off the building onto the sidewalk and I made him aware of it. He retrieved it, so when the Andaz Palm Springs opens you can all thank me for that. Despite my assistance, it is a long way from completion.

BTW, for anyone wondering what a post-tensioned deck is, as mentioned in the video, it's when you tighten the rebar after the concrete sets. It gives you a stronger deck, which you can use to lengthen the span or accomplish certain other goals.

Was there a few days ago. Construction is underway. I took this photo on Sunday so there was no activity but when I drove past on Thursday they were working on it. The street level will be retail with the hotel on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
