Should be able to provide some comments in a couple of weeks.

Did Hyatt pull all of the regular King room availability, award and cash? Looking at maxmypoint there are basically no regular King rooms (no view, no sofa bed) available at 15k anymore through next March, other than a couple days in September. Room type doesn't appear to be available under cash rates either. Tons of suite availability still showing. Saw lots of availability later in 2024 and beyond when I was looking the other day, so seems odd. Maybe they realized it was too good to be true at 15k!

I made an award booking standard night room (king size). I emailed the hotel to see if my 5yo will be able to stay in the room sleeping in same bed as us. They politely said no as max occupancy is 2 people.

Anyone else had any luck? I read on Reddit someone had success when emailing the hotel to include their child, but I was not.

Are you Globalist? Wonder if you can ask to pay to upgrade to a room that would accommodate your 5yo

Checked in a week or so ago with an award reservation. Went through some second floor entrance on Sakura Stage I think (not familiar with the area). Lobby is on the 15th floor with the rooms on floors below. Arrived around 3 PM so no real data point early check-in. I booked a king room, and there was no discussion of upgrades although I suspect the hotel was fully booked anyways. Late check-out was offered pro-actively.

The room is nice, bright, and functional. Did about six days worth of laundry with the supplied detergent. The washer/dryer combo took over an hour to dry my clothes, but I wasn't sure if I was using the controls optimally. No complaints about the bed. Breakfast is on the lobby floor. It's not that great...worse than the HR Yokohama. The view from the dining room is nice though. The walk to Shibuya station is less than 10 minutes. I didn't use any other amenities, but I'll be glad to answer any questions that I can.

I wish I was Globalist :(
I think I'll cut my losses if I don't see any reports of people being successful having their kid stay in a standard award king room. Such a shame, location looks so amazing and I am loving laundry also in the room

I'm looking to book rooms with points in October. 3 weeks ago I was seeing 15K award nights available. Then the website stopped working, when I was finally able to access the site again this week all award availability was pulled. It's the same with the Hyatt Regency Tokyo as well.

HR Tokyo I totally understand because they are doing renovations soon! But Shibuya it was odd they had so much available then just bam gone. But I just now searched a few random dates in Feb/Mar 2025 and 15k rooms are showing up on the Hyatt site again. Maxmypoint is just showing suites for 2025 so I'm not sure how often it refreshes, but hopefully it'll update soon.

Edit: Wow, HR Tokyo just reopened a ton of award availability in upcoming months thru end of July, wasn't there yesterday

Definitely playing some weird games with availability. I just cancelled a Dec 18 - Dec 22 reservation for a base room and it never went back into award inventory.

i had some luck when I emailed them earlier in the year. My child is only 2 years old though so not sure if that made a difference.

Looking to book 5 nights in Jan 2025, standard, and only the King suite is available, seems like the entire month of Jan is booked. Hopefully some opens up.

Just saw this video on how to get there from Shibuya station...I really hope they put up some more signage.
