…and almost 0 not-all-inclusive hotels remained in the Carribean, either

I'm booking Hyatt when I'm in major cities, and then independents elsewhere - it's annoying, but it's what I have to do in the US anyways

I think this is a really big loss for Hyatt because of this exact dilemma (no one wants to spend their points at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee), but on the flip side might keep them from devaluing too much because they again are losing rather than gaining footprint where it matters

Got the same email and had a stay booked at a SLH I’m a regular at in late May.
I contacted them directly and they spontaneously offered me the same room at a discounted rate (meaning still cheaper than the Hyatt rate even after adding the breakfast) and a guaranteed free upgrade for a higher end suite.
Nice!

Planning to leave the reservation as is since the only other Hyatt options are Park Hyatt for an extra 15k points or a Hyatt Centric for 10k less.
Received this email today regarding my upcoming reservation at Galleria Vik Milano.

We are excited to share good news about your upcoming reservation, confirmation number ____ at Galleria Vik Milano. As a reminder, on May 15, 2024, the strategic relationship between Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) and World of Hyatt will end. This hotel, that participates in SLH, will join World of Hyatt through Mr & Mrs Smith – a collection of boutique and luxury hotels – starting May 16, 2024. This means you will be able to earn World of Hyatt points and nights will be credited to your account for this stay; no action is required.

Based on your existing reservation, you will receive the following:

Base Points and applicable Bonus Points for qualifying spend on room rates

Tier-qualifying nights that count toward earning tier status and Milestone Rewards

Please note that you will not see this reservation in your World of Hyatt account; rest assured it will be honored.

Let's pour one out for Hyatt x SLH now that the latter's hotels have just been scrubbed from Hyatt's directory. It's been a good few years, and a fun way to add five unique hotels and destinations to my travel roster [as well as shave off a chunk of those lifetime base points].

Thanks for the memories, SLH - see you on the Hilton side.

My SLH reservations that are after May 15 disappeared again on Hyatt just like when the announcement was made. Happen to anyone else?

Post 5/15 SLH reservations removal from Hyatt was announced and expected, hopefully you have separate confirmation directly from the SLH hotel(s) you’ve booked, as Hyatt is no longer involved.

Just checked when I saw your post, and ours is gone again, too. We're not likely to use it as I have booked an AA miles backup and burning 20K Hyatt points is not worth it for no benefits. I'm holding for now just in case this hotel might be included again as some have. Planning to cancel closer in. If it doesn't return to the list, I'll have to call to do that.

I did also get the email about the trip still being valid, but I can't cancel without it in the list except by calling.

The email I got a while back says to call SLH with any changes. We will likely cancel and have booked something else since this will not count or Hyatt credit. This was booked with points, and it seems odd to be talking with SLH about reinstatement of Hyatt points. When we do cancel (probably closer to the original cancellation deadline in July), I will call Hyatt Globalist line first to see if they handle this sort of thing or if this is really for SLH to mediate returning the points.

Cheers.

I booked a SLH hotel using Hyatt points for four nights in June. I did not cancel it after Hyatt ended the SLH relationship. I just noticed that I had a transaction in my Hyatt account from last week adding four qualifying nights. I did not get any of the promotional emails that came out recently, so it feels related. Did anyone else notice something like this?

I had to cancel 2 stays booked at SLH properties, reservations made using Hyatt points. Called SLH to cancel and received e-mail confirmation of cancellation. However I still do not have the points back.

SLH told me it is up to Hyatt to return the points; Hyatt is telling me it is up to SLH to return the points. I am on the phone with a supervisor at Hyatt that is insisting that SLH needs to return the points (I am fairly certain this is incorrect).

Does anyone know how long it will take to get my points back (1 ressie was cancelled on May 20th and the other yesterday).

If you are reading this and you need to cancel a SLH reservation made through Hyatt, do not waste your time on the phone. I talked to three different Hyatt people and one SLH person today, not one could even bother to pretend to take a serious interest in getting me my points back.

The only action I got was via email. I wrote to [email protected] and received confirmation of my cancellation 2 hours later. Now comes the wait for my point to re-appear in my Hyatt account. Based on the post above mine, I fear this is destined to be a long wait that will require another call or two.
