Just to add a further datapoint on this. 2+ weeks since cancelling and still no refund of WOH points. Hyatt keeps telling me that it's based on receiving a "report" from SLH, but can't provide any timelines as to when this can be expected. And here I thought Marriott CS was bad......

To continue the saga, I received an email from Hyatt of the cancellation on my arrival date. I hope this doesn't turn into a fight to avoid being charged for the first night. However, I do have cancellation confirmations by earlier email from SLH and the hotel itself, although interestingly the hotel sent me a pre-arrival welcome email after the cancellation.

Award stay completed after May 15?
Just curious if folks have successfully completed award stays following the May 15 date of SLH leaving Hyatt. I have a stay in Aug and am just wondering if I will need to deal with any potential headaches.
Even prior to the announcement, I’ve had experiences where SLH hotels inadvertently direct the charge to my card instead of billing Hyatt (whatever predetermined rate for a points booking). They have always been easily corrected but I am not sure how robust their billing connections are now that May 15 has passed.
Anyone have a datapoint of a completed award stay after May 15?

Gotta give Hilton credit where it's due: in less than six months from announcement, they're onboarding nearly 400 SLH properties from today. With tangible benefits like room upgrades and breakfast for Gold/Diamond guests, this really sticks it to Hyatt and the two+ years we waited for them to bring MMS into the fold... and the seriously meh benefits we get after al this time from a platform Hyatt actually owns.

You can get a penny a point or better at some of the SLH properties if you can find availability. Given how easy it seems to be to run up Hilton points, there could be some really fun opportunities to be had.

Have you stayed there? I'm weighing my options in the Maldives for next year and am still leaning toward sticking with my Conrad reservation. The SLH options are tempting though...

For those struggling to cancel award stays and get points back, don't cancel yourself. My concierge was able to cancel over the phone and immediately have my points back in my account within seconds. No need to email slh or the hotel directly. If you're a globalist, use your perks.

I think Hilton is more generous to the hotel owners and pays fair price so that the hotels are more willing to join Hilton Honor. Kudos to them!
