Air India Frequent Flyer Program
I have called Air India 3 times and can't get an answer on this:

If I buy executive class(J) tickets on JFK to Mumbai
is it possible to upgrade to First Class?

how many miles does it take?

Or do they only have a program where you can use your miles
to get a free ticket , not an upgrade?

Using AI miles? Or using some other carrier's miles? Using AI miles if you have any kind of status you might get an upgrade for free ..
