I have just returned from a wonderful trip to Tokyo and Kyoto and wanted to give you all my thanks for all the time you put into answering questions. As a small sign of gratitude, I wanted to give some feedback on mobile phone rental that might be useful to others.

We wanted to be able to use our Irish mobile phones in Japan: following a tip here, rented a Nokia phone from Softbank in NRT and dropped it back to KIX on our departure (around 950 Yen per day). You can prebook it but we just turned up and rented it just to be sure that it would work before we comitted ourselves to it. The paperwork took 2mins and they checked that the sim was working before we left. ^ It was painless but much appreciated when we were there.
