I was basing my quote on what hyperdia says, which is 6,490Yen from Tokyo to Echigoyuzawa each way.

Maybe it was a function of availability at time of booking (late June) but that's the figure I recall. It made the auto decision easier (and we made that the night of departure).

So how was it???

You haven't actually said anything about the festival, or what the weather is like there, or the atmosphere.

I'm dying to know!!!

And now for my "I must be getting old comment":

Having done a few festivals in my time, I can categorically recommend a station wagon (estate) model and driving. Even if you have to be extra careful driving and sit in traffic for a while, when you are at the multi-day gig you will have a place to leave a cooler of drinks, a change of clothes, and if the weather absolutely tanks, a place to stretch out dry to sleep.

How much value would you place on that?

In a word, fantastic!

The mountains & natural amphitheatres are phenomenal. Weather is a mixed bag; most attendees pack for rain/mud just-in-case & you usually get some. Some years there's apparently been a LOT of both. Temps run in the mid-20s during the day but sometimes go to the high teens at night.

As close to the original Wooodstock concept as you'll get. Approximately 150,000 people on any given day just having a good time.

Generally no public confrontations, no insane drinking (not like my neighborhood on a Friday night), no sidestepping the "Oceans O' Spew" and very definitely little dope/drug related stuff (outside of maybe the bands). Actually many families with young children.

The event is well-organized & runs more-or-less on schedule. The exception being the Field of Dreams where performances can last almost all night. The FOD is another world, mixing live music with avant-garde performance art.

Last year's line-up and performances were first rate (OK, there were a few clinkers thrown in). See link below:

http://www.fujirockfestival.com/06/artist/index.html

View a montage of 2006 photos here.

Food is very good & varied in the Intl. Food Court (for lack of a better term). Prices are in-line with Tokyo, especially for drinks, water, etc.

The most amazing part is that after everyone leaves at night, there's not even a stray cigarette butt left on the grounds.

I'm planning on returning this year with kcvt jr & friends.

I'd rate it :-: :-: :-: :-: :-: as far as outdoor concerts are concerned,

Question Fuji Rock Festival 2007 Ticket Info

hey everyone...

sorry if this is a stupid question but i've searched everywhere and can't find a list showing when each band will be playing. i don't need exact times but just want to know who will be playing on each of the days. i mainly want to catch blonde readhead, muse and ratatat.

...is there a list somewhere for fujirock or is it not confirmed yet?

thanks for the help.

cheers*

AFAIK it's not posted yet. I don't think I saw one last year until sometime in mid-late June after all the acts had been announced.

Also, FWIW, many of the lesser-known acts performed in smaller venues in Tokyo during the week preceding FR06. Keep your eyes open for other band announcements in the Tokyo area. Metropolis is a decent source.

Naeba Fuji Rock Festival

Hi everyone,

Is anyone planning to go to Naeba to Fuji Rock Festival this summer??? I would really love to see it as I have never been there. Unfortunalety my friends are not interested, they are not keen on that kind of music so I've got no one to go with. If anyone is going alone as well or with a bigger group of friends and doesn't mind if I join that group - it would be fantastic.

Waiting for your replies

Looks like you've been successfully merged into this thread. Yokoso!

I will pass on FR07 unless they start announcing something better than The Cure.

Maylin27,

Fuji Rock is like no other festivals. I can guarantee this to you. I was there last year and going this year as well with my friends. You are very welcome to join us. The more people go, the more fun we have. But we decided to go with Inside Japan Tours as they are offering great 7 day Fuji Rock packages. This is their website http://www.insidejapantours.com/inde...include=no#top so have a look. I can't wait already - great music, great climate...and package includes full 3 day Fuji Festival tickets. This is my e mail address [email protected] so if you still want to join us, send me an e mail.
