You thought Flying Blue was bad enough? Tasty Blue will soon be here!

According to luchtvaartnieuws.nl (in Dutch), KL's longhaul pax can look forward to a new catering concept from this coming winter season: Tasty Blue!

It appears that meals will be served on polypropylene trays with a Delft Blue motif.

Sounds yummy, but can anybody tell me what polypropylene tastes like?

Johan

I hope it is not a result of intensive testing of catering enhancements in the crown lounges

The article seems to indicate that tasty blue is only for Y paxs

I hope this change will only be applied for Y pax. If KLM plans to serve me any food or drinks in a polypropylene containers in J, they can kiss my money goodbye.

In Y it's already served on a tray - so not sure what the difference is?

Yay! Maybe I will have the same tray on my return flight! Maybe I should UV it or scratch my name.

As per coming winter KLM's economy class passengers will be served a Tasty Blue meal on a new polypropylene tray. This innovative light weight tray has less impact on the environment and therefore decreases fuel usage, which is one of KLM's key ambitions. This won't have any impact on the 'tastyness' of your meal of course

So the new blue trays are really green?

Welcome to FT. BTW, if you contact administration (for example, the community director SanDiego1K) you can get designation here as an official representative of KLM, with your uername in green.

Welcome to FT, Madeleine! If you are, in fact, an official KLM representative, then ^^^

Any info about your future activities on this board would be welcome, so that everyone's expectations are aligned
