Do any of the Group airlines support any of the apps such as Verifly for any journeys, or is it all manual checking?

Is this true that you now need pcr test even if vaccinated? I'm transiting cdg,fra,sfo...my reading says you don't need a test to transfer in FRA....other than my 3 day antigen to return to USA. Can anyone confirm this is still correct or should I run out for a PCR test now!

For a Schengen to non-Schengen transit Germany does not impose any requirement of their own, you just need to satisfy the requirements of your destination.

Transiting Germany to Venice early September. My tickets are separate though. Arriving on Lufthansa from USA and Departing on Lufthansa to Venice, but are separate.

Do I need to fill out German forms such as THIS?

It says the following about transit:
Transit via Germany
Transit travelers with a destination outside Germany who do not leave the international transit area of the airport do not need to present a negative test prior to departure to Germany. Please follow entry regulations for your country of destination in any case and also check with your airline for further demands on their side.

However, the word "international transit" is a bit confusing for me. Im doing Schengen to Schengen transfer ie FRA-VCE, so does that mean I'm screwed and have to fill out all the info plus get a negative test because as of Aug. 15 the USA is considered High risk?

Passport control in Frankfurt will handle you as if you are transiting and not add any requirements on top of whatever you need for entering Italy.

When checking-in for your first flight, they might assess you on your eligibility to enter Germany as that is the "destination" of your ticket.

I recently did BOG-FRA and FRA-WAW on separate tickets (with Colombia being a "red" country) without any tests and without filling the entry form to Germany and had trouble neither at check-in nor with the German border police. The check-in agent in BOG did however ask for my booking confirmation to WAW and actually checked me in all the way to WAW "just in case".

We are US citizens traveling on US passports and both of us vaccinated as of May. On UA (DEN-ORD) then LH (ORD-FRA-MAD) so only transiting FRA (2 hrs 10 mins). Flight is first week of September - soon. UAs website very confusing in their Travel Ready site however I believe we only need our CDC vaccination card for the officials in Germany and will not require a Covid test. Am I correct on that?

Germany does not add any extra requirements for transit passengers. You just need whatever documentation / tests / etc are required by your onward itinerary.

The 'officials in Germany' rely on the airlines to do the work for them. So Lufthansa in ORD will do the document checking for them and they only do spot checks at immigration. In your case, just look at what LH requires from you here: https://lufthansa.travel-regulations...h-enabled=true

Which says:
c. Transiting Germany from High Risk Areas and Non-Risk Areas to any destination outside Germany:
  • Transiting Germany to a destination outside of Germany does not require a medical certificate or online registration for Germany.
So you are good to go.

Flew LAX-FRA on LH last week with no issues. You do not need to fill out any forms for Germany, but they will want to see whatever forms required for your final destination. If visiting any LH lounge in FRA, you will need to show proof of vaccination and expect to wait to enter due to restricted capacity. Have a great trip!

Thank you supine, oliver2002 nycflyer222. Your expertise and advise on these threads are invaluable. Now to tackle confusing FRA. I remember connecting thru there a few years back scratching my head the entire time. Good thing though is we connect thru MUC on our return.

Just to clarify: We fly JFK to Munich then on to Rome In order to transit through Germany is the proof of vaccination sufficient? Then what are the regulations to fly into Italy? The websites are unclear as to whether it is an either or situation or if we need both proof of Vaccination and a negative Covid test Appreciate any tips for this

When is your flight? Given the recent report of possible new restrictions for US citizens might need to wait and see.
