Lufthansa how big can my purse be?

Flying to India. I'm allowed one carry on and one personal item. Planning on taking a carry on duffle bag. Want to take either my backpack or a big beach tote for my laptop and personal things. Will they allow it or does it have to be a small purse? Thanks.

Lufthansa is the strictest airline I've flown. Generally if an ant can lift it it'll be allowed. What is your origin city? First/Business/Premium/Economy?

My personal item is always a back back.
For carry on you can check at LH site to see what restrictions : https://www.lufthansa.com/us/en/baggage-calculator#/

My beach tote is a little bigger than the dimensions on the website but it's soft cloth and foldable. Wonder if they'll allow it.

Max dimensions 40x30x10 CM (15.5x11.5x4 IN) I wouldn't push it an inch, otherwise you'll be checking a bag at cost.
