Royal Jordanian has some good rates at ~$970 o/w from Cairo to JFK or Detroit in business class, idk if it's related to this or not. That's a pretty fair deal!

Ok so the workaround would be to use https://uk.mytrip.com and https://www.kayak.co.uk/ OTAs will quote you in GBP.
I booked with Iberia, needed to do a TP run for BAEC, roundtrip for $572 USD CAI-DUB.
Needed a repositioning flight to get back to YWG fares via DUB are cheap to get to NA.

I started a OW RTW from CAI last week at the old prices...could cry....but if you use the OW online booking tool it tickets via QF so they do the EGP/AUD conversion and charge you in AUD....5 continent RTWs going for about 6,500 AUD now down from 10,000 yesterday...it's a bargain

It's a new day in Cairo! 12:07AM right now. Mastercard just updated their exchange rate to 2 cents USD per 1 EGP at midnight. If you can find a deal that charges in EGP and pay with a Mastercard, you should be charged the "proper" amount. VISA won't update until midnight Eastern US time.
Some airlines and OTA's have also updated their exchange rate and will now display the correct price in local currency so you don't have to worry about the exchange rate your credit card will use.
Expand the spoiler to see the actual Mastercard exchange rate

You most likely need to be departing Egypt, but basically if you're being charged in EGP or the exchange rate from EGP to local currency is correct, you should be good.
That's a huge discount!

That one-way to Asuncion (ASU) on Qatar can now be booked directly from LATAM for the fantastic price of $664 one-way!
Some airlines and OTA's have also updated their exchange rate and will now display the correct price in local currency so you don't have to worry about the exchange rate your credit card will use.
