essxjay I disagree with you because he came to this message board and many others (mine included) with one intent only, and that was to promote his website. This is a discussion board, not a venue intended for free advertising.
He's nothing but a spammer. Fortunately, I checked in to my board while he was actually spamming it. He posted the same lengthy diatribe to 5 or 6 different categories on my board before I was able to ban his posting privileges. I did this while he was actually spamming my board, so no telling how many times he would have posted if I didn't catch him in the act.

The only reason we post annoucement about our site on various bulletin boards is because we believe the visitors of those bulletin board are likely to be interested in what's found on our website as well.
I believe there are visitors of flyertalk who could also benefit from the information on our site. Of course for those who monitor FlyerTalk 365 days a year, that might not be the case. Our site may be small, it is not personal site. It will improve and become bigger and better.
If you insist this is spam to you, then I must have to say sorry. However, I feel there is no other way. Do you consider all those AOL CDs one after another mailed to you house spam? I don't like them anymore than you do, but what's the alternative? And could you say then, spam has nothing to do with AOL's success?
I think spam are those messages that are totally unrelated to the topic of the board/site, and totally not interested by the visitors of the board/site.
I chose not to leave a email when I registered. I didn't think it was necessary.

essxjay I think your post directed at my response is totally out of line. I have NEVER come to this message board with the sole intent of promoting the message board I administer. I respond to posts about Priceline bidding PERIOD!!
I certainly have no idea why you felt the need to post what you did when the info. from my message board has been very useful to you in the past and you have come to me personally for feedback.
Someone who posts the exact same message to numerous categories on a single message board within a 10 minute period promoting a website is a SPAMMER.

Sheryl, you are entitled to your opinion of my posts. Frankly, I find your posts that take others to the mat for promoting a site that others may find useful quite offensive, not only for the tone of voice you use but for your the underlying vilification of the profit motive.
Just because I have found your Web site helpful in the past doesn't mean that I'm going to refrain from pointing out where I think you're wrong. Those are seperate not integral concepts.

Our site is indeed growing. We have added polls, more deals and reviews. We will also be adding frequent flyer related news from the news wires in the near future. We hope to make it one of few sites you would visit on a regular basis.
