maybe just get the full ticket and then book the return for a date far out from now, and some day maybe you will be there again and can fly home? I dunno... take the boat back to there to accomplish this maybe?
Also, while it may not have been 'mileable,' I seem to recall a deal once involving the inauguration of a new transatlantic ship whereas you fly to Europe one way and then take the boat stateside. No, it wasnt Titanic.

I was specifically asking whether BA miles can be used for one-way INTRA-ASIA flights. There does not seem to be an option on the BA award chart for this. If it is possible, how many miles does it cost?

i was attempting to summarize clearly for the thread in general.
also, CX allows absolutely anything basically, and from people discussing BA, it sure sounded to me like it was a very similar program. i guess i should have said that. so i would suggest if they dont mention it online you should try calling them.

Well, usually FTers know a lot more than CS agents about this kind of stuff. But, I may have to.

well, you can look at CX's charts online without logging in. not as far as ive seen with BA. if you look at CX's site, you can see what im talking about. there are no gaps or anything like that for any oneworld airline. they even allow one-way on GF.
also sorry i edited my post.
and you might have better luck getting a quick response in the BA forum.

This has already been stated in this thread, so I'm not sure why you are repeating it.

You can also use your BA Miles to get a flight with one of our 14 partner airlines. This includes flights where the itinerary includes more than one airline. For example:
Two or more oneworld™ partner airlines, not including British Airways
Three or more oneworld™ partner airlines, if the itinerary includes British Airways
To see how many BA Miles you'll need in either case, add up the total number of miles that your journey will cover and refer to the table below.
Miles in your journey BA Miles needed for economy flight
0 - 1,500 30,000
1,501 - 4,000 35,000
4,001 - 9,000 60,000
9,001 - 10,000 70,000
10,001 - 14,000 90,000
14,001 - 20,000 100,000
20,001 - 25,000 120,000
25,001 - 35,000 140,000
35,001 - 50,000 160,000
