Egyptair Sells Its A220s to Lessor

Egyptair has sold its entire, quite young A220 fleet to leasing company Azorra. This comes across as a strange pivot by MS, given that the A220s were originally intended to replace Embraer aircraft on regional services. Egyptair now apparently is pursuing Airbus widebodies, which seems like an odd substitute for the role filled by the A220s.

Which airlines are likely to end up operating these ex-MS A220-300s?

Is this not a sale and leaseback, with the cash freed up allowing MS to raise financing for new (much needed) Airbus wide bodies?

The article notes that the aircraft are relatively new, and thus "highly desirable for [the lessor's] growing customer base" so I assumed Egyptair was not going to be the airline operating them any longer.
