I've flown AI in C and F several times and it is acceptable - which to me means I can sleep a good 8 hours. The main advantage is travel duration and dept/arrival times which are much superior to other carriers. These flagship routes typically are punctual.

Yeah, it's like about the same or a little worse than most biz class flights you have taken. It's not first class like you think of first class. Neither the hard or soft product is there, especially employee trainin

Here is a link to the Points Guy review. So if you like buffet food out of tins....this first class is for YOU!

A big difference is now the AI F fares are over US$6000. You can book QR business for somewhere between US$3200 and $4200 (depending on if you want free seat assignments and premium lounge access in DOH). And be pretty much guaranteed of QSuites between ORD and DOH.

QR SEA-BOM return R/Classic $2424 or I/Comfort $2788 with more Qpoints/Qmiles/Al Mourjan lounge access and seat selection. Availability wide open.

This image says it all about Air India Premium from the US. They use the Virgin Clubhouse in Newark -- only to refer to it as "Waiting Lounge Area".

And someone thinks this is an inviting picture!

Oh Air India. So close, yet so far!

My guess is it is an unmaintained web page. I don't think there is a Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse in EWR. VS used to fly to EWR but that stopped over a year ago and they shut down the EWR clubhouse permanently sometime at the end of 2019 or early 2020 (link).

The only VS Clubhouse I know of the the New York area is the one in JFK T4. And it is currently closed as well.

We can debate the value of the product, but as a cabin on Google Flights you can purchase First for $6200 or so. The cabin is 1-2-1 with lie flat seats, while for $2800 you can buy Business with a 2-3-2 seating. Of course, I wouldn't spend a penny with AI and use QR or the other Star Alliance example mentioned in this thread.

AI does have F class on most of their long haul flights in addition to a J class. All their 777s are configured in a 3 class combination of F-J-Y. It could be possible that some their smaller 787s may have only two classes. And their narrow body medium and short haul flights only have two classes.

F only on the B77W and B77L.
The B788 and B789 definitely have no F. A32S are mostly two class, some are single class.
