I booked this recently as part of a nested roundtrip, the other flights being cheap Y fares on QR that I upgraded using shortly expiring QCredits. It's possible to go via AMS and CDG both ways to maximise XP. I was also happy to be able to select seat 1A on Air France's new A350 cabin for free despite having dropped from Platinum to Gold. They wanted 200EUR for that seat about 1.5 months out from departure.

This is definitely a decent deal. 102 XP = instant silver. 2 of them and you're gold and some.
I believe Gold get access to all seats free, no?
