earn 5 qmiles...

Hi

I've just checked with the double qmiles offer I've received from Qmiles via email, I should have 295 qmiles on December 31st... 5 qmiles short of renewing gold

Any advice on how to get those, preferably without flying ? Or si there a cheap interesting flight to do in Qatar where I will stay 2 to 3 days around christmas but was planing to drive through the small country ?

Thanks
Luis

Chances are being so close, they would upgrade you anyway.

This I can believe, I actually don't know how I made Gold in the first place... is it standard for QR to upgrade their FF to Gold without the necessary qmiles ?

It did work well to fidelize , as I've booked a couple of QR tickets for family members and myself lately.

I don't know QR's history of giving status if you're close, but I would never count on that.

You could take an overnight in Bahrain. A somewhat interesting place to visit, with the airport not too far from town, and only a 45-minute flight.

Or there's always Dubai, a similar distance away, with the main advantage being that there are flights around the clock, so you can travel at your convenience to fit it in your short trip.

Unfortunately, none of the flights are cheap. I have never seen a round-trip flight on QR for less than about $350 all-in.

If it's any consolation, driving through the country is no great holiday. One day is enough, and even then there is even less to see outside Doha than in Doha.

Thanks Mecabq, I'll keep the Dubai option in mind particulary if I get bored in Qatar - especially that I haven't been there in over 10 over years so it wouldnt hurt.
