WTH with Qatar Y meals and service?

WTH with Qatar Y meals and service?
Qatar has one of the best J products in the world but WTH with economy?
Recently flew DOH-DPS / KUL-DOH in Y and not happy.
Comparing to Emirates, there is just no competition in Y. Emirates has much better food, FAs, more entertainment options and a bit more comfortable seat.
Recently flew DOH-DPS / KUL-DOH in Y and not happy.
- Small meal portions, no cheese/appetizer/or proper veg salad, everybody is probably tired of quinoa salad that has been on the menu for a while.
- No coffee on both flights. On DOH-DPS they ran out of coffee and FA was too lazy to refill. On KUL-DOH there were no hot beverages at all during both meals due to seatbelt sign (but not much real turbulence).
- FA not friendly, communication limited to short replies Yes, No to any requests (usually No).
Comparing to Emirates, there is just no competition in Y. Emirates has much better food, FAs, more entertainment options and a bit more comfortable seat.

Agree that QR's Y meals are quite sparse in comparison to other airlines. Your point on EK is also right, QR is superior in J and EK is far superior in Y.
Let's not forget those dreadful "sandwiches" they frequently serve as the second meal.
