Qatar Airways to Narita?

was just wondering if anyone has any info about when Qatar is going to start flights to Tokyo narita.

Now that the 2nd runway will be re-opened on october 22nd instead of March 2010, are there any chances that Qatar will start flights to Tokyo as soon as that date?

Thanks for any info

Cheers

I thought that there is a second runway at NRT already?

But what does the second runway have to do with QR flights? You might probably elicit better answers at QR office in Tokyo than here... (but come back and tell us )

Thx

hey. yes narita already has a secnd runway, but it cant be used for big aircrafts like the boeing 777-300ER or the 747. Hence there were no slots for Qatar, Emirates or Etihad. Now the 2nd runway was extended to 2500m and is due to re-open on october 22nd. All Gulf carriers are believed to have got permissions to fly to narita after the extension of the 2nd runway. the 2nd ruway was due to reopen in March 2010 but construction went so fast and the runway was completed ahead of planned date. so i was wondering if Qatar is going to start flights earlier than planned too, thats it
