EuroBonus Millionaire

SAS has just launched a challenge, fly with 5, 10 or 15 sky team airlines before new years and earn up to 10k, 100k or 1 million eurobonus points. T&C apply.

In Danish: https://www.sas.dk/special-offers/eu...s-millionaire/

I'm considering going for it - any one else? There's only 17 carriers to choose from (No ITA, MEA), so two can be left out.

That's a nice one! If you can make a trip around the world with those 15 airlines, the next few rounds are on Skyteam.

If someone comes up with a nice itinerary draft idea, please share!

If this started a few weeks ago I'd consider adding a couple partner flights to hit the 5 but with only SK flights booked (with ST) for the rest of the year it doesn't seem likely.

If they offered something durable, like the lifetime gold - I'd do it. 1 million points is perhaps $10K worth of tickets. 15 airlines in economy would probably end up costing half that at least (not even talking about J).

As retroclaim is not working, I find it hilarious that claims need to be made befoe Dec 20th. I cannot even imagine that SAS will fix the IT system before then.

Otherwise it is hard to consider managing 15 airlines before the end of the year. Ending the challenge in March would have been more reasonable as many people will have travel already booked through year end. Depite having loads of time and enough points to make an attempt, I will pass.

Considering that O/W C ticket from CDG to JFK is 750.000 points in November 2024, or 500.000 OW for a CPH-PVG in C, I don't see any interest to the promotion.

It's quite a clever promotion, because according to this page on the Swedish SAS homepage only 14 of the 20 full SkyTeam members are eligible for SAS EuroBonus earnings. So, according to the first of the promotion's terms and conditions, ("För att flygresan ska räknas måste EuroBonus-poäng tjänas in på eller användas för att betala för flygresan. SkyTeam flygbolag som är tillgängliga finns på SAS hemsida") it's impossible to get 15 airlines and the 1,000,000 miles.

Assuming that's the case, of the remaining 14, only 4 - Air Europa, Air France, KLM and Tarom - have itineraries within Europe. Every other eligible partner requires a pretty hefty chunk of travelling time.

In which case it is false advertising and illegal in most countries consumer protection laws. Someone should file a complaint with local advertising standard agencies (received same email / postal address Norway).

It does say award trips count (which could help with the non-earning partners), but how would they track award flight activity on partners (unless booked with EB points)?

It does state that for award flights to count, they must be booked with EB points.

The challenge is very tempting. Five would be no problem, and if you get to ten airlines then the rewards for doing the last five is huge.

If your EB number is on the booking, as the T&Cs require, they should see the activity.

Using the link you provided, marking Skyteam and Earn points there are 15 Airlines you can earn on.

But even so, the rules state that it counts if you earn points on a fligt, but also if you spend points on a flight. So there is nothing illegal.

On that page, I count 14 airlines where you can earn and burn, one airline where you can only earn, and two airlines where you can only burn. So, 15 airlines where you can earn, plus two additional where you can burn.
