Need about 3,000 United miles - any ideas?
I'm sitting on about 22,200 miles, some 2,800 short for a free restricted tickets. What's the best way for me to earn them, any ideas?
Thanks!
Thanks!

One option is a co branded credit card
"Chase, United Airlines to renew multi-year co-branded card
OR even better

you get tons more miles, upgrades and travel voucjers. Make a couple of transactions on the card, and then cancel it before the end of the year to avoid the $60.

Suggest Mileage Run (MR). You might want to check out the "Mileage Runs" forum on FT.

If using it domestic, hold on to it for an expensive destination (not a major destination where everyone has sales all the time) during a time other than "high demand" (ie, not Christmas, not Thanksgiving, not spring break), etc. I view 25k for a $300ish fare a poor rate of exchange, but last year I found that LAX-JAC (Jackson Hole WY, for Grand Teton/Yellowstone) was $600ish on any June dates I wanted to travel, but found 25k availability no problem. That I considered a more reasonable use of 25k miles.
Are you a member of MileagePlus Dining? That'll get you UA miles climbing slowly but very steadily, assuming you live in a reasonable-size metro area. (It's hard to be specific about recommendations when you provide no information about where you're based, what ways you already earn UA miles, etc.)

Or check out MileageMall where some vendors will give you up to 25miles/$ spent.

I would get a UA Chase Visa and 25k bonus miles, then spend 2800 with it. Then you'll have 2 'free' domestic tickets, or a ticket to somewhere more exotic!

Getting a credit card is out of the question, I think I already pissed off Chase enough

To follow up on gre:
1. Netflix: 2000 miles for $9 sign-up
2. FTD: 15 miles per $1. $60 bouquet sent to mom/aunt/dentist = 900 miles
