SQ15 Award availability
Hi,
I am looking for saver award availability for SQ15 on the 6th Dec 2014. At the moment it is under Waitlisted. Does this mean it has already gone or they just have not released space yet. Also will this change closer to the time?
Thanks
Alex

You can put yourself on the waitlist. SQ will review waitlist booking closer to the departure date.

I was looking at the same thing for flights departing on the 20th Dec - There was lots of open seats up until the 19th Dec and now when I checked this morning it says 'not available'. What does that mean? Has all the allocations gone already for those seats or are they just not opening them up because its 20th Dec and near Christmas?

What I don't get is that you can go on a waiting list, but then how can you plan around that? Because if the seat does not open up you are screwed!!

I have also been looking for SQ flights on Dec 22 from SIN to LHR, CDG or FRA in FC at the Saver level. There has been decent availability prior to this day, but from Dec 22 onward everything is on waitlist. I also checked several local Asia flights and same thing, no availability in Business Class from Dec 22 onward. It appears they are holding all seats at the Saver and Standard levels, and only the Full levels are available. This may not be the case for dates prior to this, and Waitlisted seats may have been booked. I called customer service and they were not aware of this and said that seats can open any time.

Do note the ticketing timeline though, as seated booked but not ticketed will be automatically released by the deadline. You will then need to call KF membership services to put back the waitlist for you...

From what I observe using my award flights (I have consumed the inventory), I deduce the following
Not available = someone has already taken the award on the exact same flight
Waitlist = means nothing. They just want to sell as much as they can first.
I always get my Waitlist cleared in the 2 weeks window before the flight, sometimes more if I make an effort to keep calling them.

**Update**
I ended up booking on Dec 18th as there was open seats in business. The strange thing is that when I was talking to the agent on the phone I mentioned that I wanted to a do a stop over in Singapore and it was a shame I couldn't on the saver ticket. The lady said she would do this for for a charge of $100 per person extra!! Was very happy as I thought stop overs were only allowed on the non saver awards? Didnt question it and just booked it!! Beautiful!! Only problem now is having to wait 12 months to take the flight!!

Waitlist means all the allotment for that flight has been taken up and you can be put on the waitlist pending cancellation, or release of more redemption seats.
Not available means both the allotment and waitlist is full, and they are not accepting anymore redemption tickets on this flight.

I'm tempted to believe they're just not opening seats around Christmas 2014 and New Year's. I too noticed seats available as they opened in December. But that appears to have stopped as they started opening up dates December 20th and on. While it's possible someone is booking seats the second they open, it seems like they are simply just not opening them up. Fingers crossed they'll go back to opening them for travel in January and that this is not some new trend as I had just moved over 250k Membership Rewards points!
I would not take the bet that some seats are gonna open up around christmas and new year anytime later.

I was watching availability for LAX-NRT-SIN for the last while, and I would see seats consistently open at the 350 day window.
Come Dec 20th, Saver awards were already on Waitlist even at midnight Singapore time. It's been like that all the way up past Christmas.
JFK-FRA-SIN also seems to be the only route I've seen on a perpetual waitlist for awards. At the 350 day window, I've only ever seen Saver awards on Waitlist.
It only seems SQ wasn't releasing space around Christmas for US departures. I saw sporadic availability from Europe, and there was full availability around Asia (e.g. SQ11 NRT-SIN was wide open, just that the LAX-NRT wasn't) and to Australia on flights with Suites.
I settled for HKG-SIN-MEL in Suites for just 63,750 points, which should be enough to get a good taste of the Suites experience. I'll be doing LAX-HKG in CX F, which I'm equally as excited for.

Hmm... Not exactly right.
Waitlist means all the allotment for that flight has been taken up and you can be put on the waitlist pending cancellation, or release of more redemption seats.
Not available means both the allotment and waitlist is full, and they are not accepting anymore redemption tickets on this flight.
