Urgent Help / Cancel (Reschedule)
Hello folks,
This is my first post here and I really need some understanding on Singapore Air cancel / reschedule compensation policy is.
Here's some background :
Original Flight :
Hnd to Drw via Sin connecting (Feb 10)
Reschedule Flight :
Hnd to Sin (Feb 10)
Sin to Drw (Feb 12) 2 days later
On Jan 27, I received an email from Singapore air that my connecting flight has been cancel / reschedule to 2 days later. So I called the customer rep to verify what is going on. And indeed the rep told me that my connecting flight has been reschedule and this is what the rep offer first :
Change my flight Hnd to Drw to depart on Feb 11
But here's the tricky part I'm flying from Lax to Nrt via United on Feb 8 and arriving in Nrt on Feb 9 and I plan for little sightseeing then head to Hnd to catch my flight. Because of that if I moved my flight to Feb 11, I told the rep that Singapore air has to provide me accommodation, since it's no way my fault and then rep wanted my Lax to Nrt eticket number to verify if I was telling the truth.
Then I gave another option to the rep saying I won't mind taking the 2 day delay in Singapore if Singapore air provide the accommodation and the rep said will pass it higher up to decide and will call my phone.
On Jan 28 8:00 am I called for an update and still no word, the other rep told me that will expedite the request to high up again.
Jan 28 5:00 pm I called for an update and still no word, I'm starting to get angry told the rep to refund Sin to Drw segment or put me into another carrier and told me no can do.
Jan 28 7:00 pm I email to Singapore air krisflyer and public relation to get someone to help me.
As of now still no word from Singapore air and I need some help.
What option do I have? Does anyone know the correct department to help me? How does Singapore air cancel / reschedule policy work?
I haven't even taken the flight and it's causing me too much problems.
Please give me some advice.
Thanks in advanced.

So basically your "problem" is the costs of accomodation for 2 nights in either Tokyo or S'pore?
To my knowledge there is no obligation to provide hotel when you are rescheduled well in advance of your travel dates. Unless you have been to Tokyo before, I suggest that you take 2 days off and go sightseeing in Tokyo; great city. Resonable accomodation is available at fair rates. If you prefer a warmer climate spend the time in Singapore.
