Check out the W FTL master thread (I don't know how to link it here), the comments are overwhelmingly negative.

BTW, I stayed at the Hilton FTL Beach about a year ago and thought it was excellent. In the future, if I need/want to stay on ft lauderdale beach, I would likely go for the Westin or Hilton....both of which are close to the W.

Honestly, the list of problems is so long I can't bebothered to go into great detail. A quick snapshot: incompetent valet parking staff, used toiletries in the bathroom when I arrived, missing toiletries, staff banging on my door at 11:00pm when DND sign is in full display, incorrect room service order, and on and on and on and on and on. The only positive encounter I had with a staff member was one of the room service delivery persons who was exceedingly friendly and helpful. All other staff there? Meh.

Overwhelmingly negative? Really? There are few negative reports here and trust me if long time trusted forumers like myself said it wasn't worth a stay, then head the messenger.
I myself havent had one bad stay there. That isn't to say that other people's experience haven't varied. For example, I will never ever set foot in the W Chicago Lakeshore although others give it positive reviews.
I've always said each individual has his/her own criteria for "expectations" so they should at least stay at a property once (not including that the four points Miami Beach) so they can have first hand experience.

Of course, any property can be variable. I don't doubt that someone might occasionally have a good stay at the W FTL.....you seem to have had several. However, let's not close our eyes to the evidence on FT that more people seem to be unhappy than happy with their W Ft. Lauderdale experiences.

Yes overwhelmingly negative. I just re-read the last three pages of the thread in question. There are 2-3 negative comments for every positive one....and some of the "positive" comments are just lukewarm frankly. Several comments from people indicting they are cancelling or have cancelled reservations due to negative reviews on that thread. Seems pretty conclusive to me.

It isn't a wash. However you seem intent on insisting your view prevails for some reason. My recommendation for folks considering a stay at the W Ft Lauderdale is that they check out that hotel's master thread (easily found using the search function) and view people's comments and reviews. You can then draw your own conclusions on how satisfied people have been during their stays.

I've been here a long time and if anyone know how to use the search feature it's me. :-::-::-::-:
I've read and posted in the thread. Lets agree to disagree on this property and move on.

W FLL is pretty beat up property and not the best option on FLL beach. I like Hilton and Westin in that area much better. While I was staying at this W in summer, there was a women in the lobby who was screaming and shouting at the staff (I do not know why), and some staff members were asking other staffers to use restrain so as not to aggravate her further. The whole atmosphere at the hotel was wimpy, without class, and waste of my vacation time and dollars.
