Run for your life: Le Méridien Montparnasse (Paris, France)
Just stayed there last week - apparently, they have a known issue with their water temperature fluctuating between "boil" to "freeze".
So if you're the type that likes to shower every once in a while, make sure this "once in a while" does not happen during your stay there...
When I made this comment @ checkout, the response was "yes, we know" - ???
Just sent a comment to SDG corp, waiting to hear back.

The hotel ceases to be part of the Starwood family in 6 weeks or so.

When I stayed there in 2007 we didn't have any of those issues. It was a great location for the redemption value at the time and we got a nice upgrade.

Just there Thursday to Saturday and can affirm the unpredictable, rapid and dramatic swings in temperature while showering. The water shifts to scalding hot but with just enough time to leap back. You then test carefully until the next swing begins. Since it rarely stays that hot for more than about 30-45 seconds, you can resume in a reasonable time. Same for swings to freezing cold water. It was manageable but one had to be alert.
Presumably they have zero pressure regulation in the water system, thus each guest that turns hot or cold water on or off for a shower swings the entire system for everyone.
Otherwise a nice stay and the location is convenient for some purposes (although not so much for tourism).
