W South Beach

Has W South Beach withdrawn from using points for free nights? On the SPG booking page each hotel shows the points needed for a free night or No Availability. The W South Beach says "Limited Participation" When you click on the link a new box opens but it just says you don't earn points at different stores and restaurants. There is no link to book using points.

I think this is pretty self explanatory
SPG points cannot be earned at the W Store, Mr. Chow (restaurant), and Wall (lounge).
Thats because its a resort and has restaurants that are not owned by the hotel, therefore you cannot directly earn points for purchases billed items charged charged to your room.

However, if you pay with the SPG AMEX, you'll get points for the total billed amount.

To book any free nights, you need to book at www.spg.com not from the hotels web page.

It can be booked using Starpoints through the Customer Contact Center. I'm not sure why it can no longer be booked through the web site, but I'll have someone take a look at it.
