You travel enough, you're bound to see something like this at least once, whether you're going 5 star or 1.

IMHO, this is a rant thread with very little merit.

IMO a person who feels their health is at risk, would immediately check out of the the hotel and request to be relocated at the offending properties expense, and then seek medical attention. This wasn't done.

I could be wrong, but I get the sense, that this thread was created so that we can give the poster ammunition to get more points out of the property. One of my reasons for saying this, is the OP continues to blame Starwood/SPG when this is a property level issue.
I didn't realize this thread was an interview or interrogation being conducted by KENNECTED where my role is to answer all your questions. Your rambling posts contained many questions and statements that you feel 100% confident are correct. I get your point very clearly:

1) KENNECTED stays in a room with feces stains on the bed: He is entitled to lifetime status, free rooms, $ reimbursement, and a change in management. He also posts detailed reviews with pictures and videos online which are all justified.

2) Anyone else experiences something similar and they should take whatever offer they receive from the property and move on. Also any postings online are simply in order to extort more points.

A post about Feces on the walls at a Starwood property is of 'very little merit' on a site that discusses opinions and experiences of Starwood properties? Thanks for your opinion once again.

HA. I do not believe your complaint was purely altruistic. What a swell guy you must be. Doesn't want anything for his troubles, just assurances that it won't happen to anyone else. Interesting, however, that you accepted compensation if you were only complaining for the betterment of other travelers.

So to close out this thread, Starwood has made this right by my book.

To the all-informed poster who stated with utmost certainty that this is only a property-specific issue, they were incorrect. I refused the offer that the hotel made to me. As a result of contact I made with Starwood corporate, I was able to reach a suitable resolution and move on. SPG Consumer Affairs looked at the situation, saw the pictures, weighed the response from the hotel and came forward with a more appropriate offer that I am pleased with. Starwood clearly takes situations like this very seriously and I appreciate their efforts and response.

Thank you to the 'Starwood Lurker', my ambassador, and the consumer affairs team for responding in such an understanding manner. I have moved all my remaining stays to other properties in DC but I have kept them in the SPG family due to the overwhelmingly positive experiences that I have had with company over the past 7 years, this major incident notwithstanding.

Agreed. Price is not a proxy for cleanliness in all cases. This could happen anywhere and there is probably some really nasty stuff going on right now at a Ritz or four seasons somewhere.

This thread is starting to sound like "my fecal matter is bigger than your fecal matter."

Let me say, I'm glad this issue is resolved to your satisfaction. I did have an issue. I was given lifetime status with that brand and declined. I will never stay at a property under that loyalty program!

I never said you should take it, if so please show me. I only said they offered the equivalent of one nights stay.

When I do not clearly understand someone post/situation I ask questions to better understand. You chose not to answer to simple and valid questions.

Exactly this site is about experience and opinions. We are not always going to agree with the poster.

I'm a swell guy, but do not make a vain attempt to attack my character, because I have an opinion about your situation. That isn't called for.

I accepted compensation because of a unique situation, that came out of my pocket, that the GM agreed I should have had to pay.

This situation happened very early in my FT life and it did help others. THAT is why I participate on FT. I've learned a lot have become a trusted resource on FT and I hope to share what I've learned and pay it forward.

Na, not at all. We had two different situations. Like I said, I'm glad the situation is resolved. Hopefully the Westin Georgetown staff, top to bottom, get the message and no other guest has to experience this.

If you're going to insist that others answer your questions, you should actually provide questions. Your first "question" is not a question. It's a statement.

Sounds like your instigating for no apparent reason and this thread has served it's purpose.

The first data point was an answer to a previous question.

You're* instigating

its* purpose

lol - yeah, and your posts didn't instigate anything... Reason for my post: I enjoy calling out the self-righteous.

....keep in mind, you add adding a thing to the conversation!

You might "think" I am being self righteous, but you know nothing! I've been a very active and trusted member of this community and will continue to do so regardless of your flawed attempt to attack my character.
