I wish Starwood would go to MCI...they are not perfect, I know, but at least I have eventually received all my points due me through MCI programs.
Bottom Line: Starwood Customers deserve better than AT&T.</font>

William,
Thank you for your presence here and your information.
I do, respectfully, have to join the chorus here. I, too, signed up for online billing with AT&T recently and they were completely lost about the Starwood deal, so I just gave up.
Any help you could offer to us would be appreciated.

I'm afraid I have to join my voice to the chorus on this one... I signed up for the 7500 point bonus a year or so ago and didn't get my points for MONTHS...and only then because the previous lurker, Jay, went to bat for a number of us. It was ONLY with his help that they ever posted. With Starwood totally washing their hands of this up front, There's not much chance the points will ever come through, I'm afraid. BEWARE....and Starwood, please either 1) choose better, more reliabe partners, as your name is on the line, too...or 2) Stand behind these promo's, like was done last time.

Thanks, ILTE_Miles, I must have missed this earlier. I will check with our AT&T partner liaison to see if the promotion is still on. As far as last year's promotion is concerned, I don't think it was an online promotion, but we did have one with AT&T that ended on December 31, 2000 for a bonus and long distance usage Starpoints thereafter.

Okay, the promotion is still in the works and it should be announced in the September e-statement. Of course, the promotion beginning date is likely to change.
ILTE_Miles, if you haven't gotten a paper statement in months despite stay activity this is probably because they are now going out on a quarterly basis regardless of any activity. If it has been longer than a quarter, you might want to call us to be sure we have the correct address on file. If it is correct, ask the Customer Care Associate to follow up on it.

I found the signup at www.att.com/starwood/ and a similar offer (5k bonus + 5 pts per dollar for Marriott at www.att.com/marriott/
If you just go to the www.att.com, and click around the consumer area or the main page, you only find the $25 Amazon GC offer.
The first signup page has a place to enter your name and SPG number. I assume that I'm supposed to enter the number without the 'status' letter (eg: P or A). Is that correct William? Anyway, that's what I did. We'll see what happens.
You also get a $1 credit on your bill for 12 months if you aren't on a list of excluded plans. That part of the offer expires Sept 30, 2001.

I always said where there is a will there is a way. The only problem with enrolling in this promotion now is that it has not officially begun. If you used the web site above to enroll before the promotion began, we cannot guarantee you will receive any of its benefits.
Information regarding this promotion will be sent in the September e-statement which begin distribution around September 12th.

William .. AT&T offered it by making the signup form available on their web site, so I'm confused by your statement. The terms and conditions on the AT&T web site said nothing about it not being valid when I signed up.
Nonetheless, I appreciate the heads up. Since I already signed up, I don't think there's anything I can do it about it other than to expect AT&T to honor the offer I signed up for. It is AT&T that is going to deposit the points, isn't it?
Incidentally, it takes 1 - 2 billing cycles before you can get your bill online anyway. I doubt if they will be any faster than that in deposting my points.

LIH Prem, this information came directly from our AT&T liaison. I think her concern is that if the enrollment is not successful, we have just bought ourselves some more bad will, which is never our intention. I would wait until the e-statement comes out and see if there is a phone number given to reach AT&T Online Services. Perhaps a call to them will alert them to any problems early on and we can avoid the crediting issues we have seen in the past. Since any bonuses or usage Starpoints originate from AT&T, they should be your first point of reference when it comes to why you did not receive credit.

Well, I guess I'm officially a beta tester. I re-read the t&c on the site and it says nothing about restricted dates, but it does say to allow 6 - 8 weeks for the initial posting of the bonus.
William: When I entered my SPG number at the site, I omitted the 'P' status code in the number. Is that the correct way to do it?

LIH Prem, this is a hard question to answer since it's AT&T's site. Honestly, I don't know. It should not matter since this has nothing to do with status, but I would be loathe to answer for AT&T. If you can find a phone number to call on this web site, I would ask them.
ILTE_Miles, send me your Starwood Preferred Guest number in an e-mail and I'll try to see what is preventing a paper statement from being sent to you on a quarterly basis like it should be.
