PROMO: Aeroplan Members - Complimentary SPG Gold and 1000 Bonus Aeroplan per stay
So yesterday in the mail I received a SPG Gold Card in the mail, with a letter from Aeroplan stating that as a valued Aeroplan member, I have received complimentary SPG Gold status until Feb, 2011. Additionally, I receive 3 Aeroplan points for every dollar spent, and an additional 1000 Aeroplan points PER night. (if thats my choice over SPG points)
Seems like a hell of a deal. Very weird tho, since I am SPG Platinum. So I now have an active Gold and Platinum card in my possession with my name and SPG #.
Hoping this doesnt cause any confusion in my file.
Anyone else receieve this?

Not from Aeroplan, but my United 2P mother got the SPG GOLD card, care of her UA status.

Aeroplan/SPG have done this in the past. I received comp SPG gold about 2 years ago as a 'valued Aeroplan member'. Last year Hilton did the same and gave me comp gold status.
Now, if they were handing out comp SPG Plat status I would really be interested.

You may like to ring up Platinum Concierge and inform them that you have two accounts under your name due to the Aeroplan account.
Your accounts will be merged but before the associate proceeds, do remind them that you have Aeroplan details updated in your Gold account.
