Thank you for the menu. I also find the breakfast portion to be very small (when flying to NRT).

I don’t tend to drink much, so apologies for the lack of drinks menus.
No problem. I don’t drink much either when flying.

For reference, this is the "Swiss Breakfast" earlier this year.

For me it was OK, but only because it was an early arrival into ZRH and my goal was to finish sleeping in the arrival lounge and have a proper breakfast there.

LH overnight breakfast on the outbound was significantly more substantial.

I wasn't fussed, but if I were, one reason would have been I have gone for "please serve me as late as possible" (which as I remember, I had three choices about the wakeup, to wake me up at start of service, serve as late as possible, or don't wake me up), by the time I finished we were well into descend.

Swiss breakfast ZRH-NRT November 2023

English breakfast ZRH-NRT March 2024.
Whatever Celeriac flan with truffled mushroom ragout and edamame beans might look like this definitely wasn’t’ one.

I suppose the trick is to tick Swiss, English and Asian breakfasts.

Wasn’t really practical to ask as they were bringing passengers pre-ordered trays out over the last 3 hours of the flight. They were busy.

I found it interesting that in J - to HKG, SIN, ICN, TYO - they offer 1 choice that gears more „local“ taste, but never ever in F. An area of improvement.

The difference between flying F and J?

I agree it’s difficult when breakfast has been pre-ordered.

Only for breakfast. Unlike LH they never served Japanese meals on flights to/from Japan in F or J. The only exception as far as I remember was pieces of sushi as amuse bouche in F on flights to /from Japan. But it was a long time ago.

The Sorbet & Carrot is a new item with the September Menu cycle, it is awful….. gone are those lovely cheesy sticks & the replacement bread was like Cardboard, i gave feedback & the FA’s, they tried it & agreed, so if you are not keen, please also let the FA know

"One of the highlights in the inflight menu is his famous carrot sorbet, a signature dish that's a staple at his restaurant, and which, by featuring the widely known "Aargauer Rüebli" (carrots from the canton of Aargau) also serves as a delightful nod to the canton itself."

Apparently this is a focus point of his menu and something they want to highlight. Never too late to reconsider...

What’s this fascination with carrots?

This is from March to May 2024 business menu. I saw it but didn’t try.

The carrot tartar was, well, carrot tartar. Finely diced raw carrot. Crunchy. Kinda interesting. Kinda odd to just eat like that though, tartar normally comes with crostini? I guess I could spread it on the bread? I didn't taste horseradish, but there was a little mound of something creamy in the middle. Tiny bit of puffed buckwheat for crunch. Attractive sprig of dill on top. The miso sauce with herb oil was too oily for my liking, so I'm glad it was on the side.
Overall, interesting, but odd to eat as-is.
I see there’s Carrot Market in Aarau every November but is carrot very special in Switzerland?

I wish they'd bring back the seafood platter. That looked amazing!
