Zrh - far east

Hi all,

Just looking for some flights in October to the far east (NRT/PEK/HKG/PVG) and Swiss only flies their 343s there?

Was hoping to try out the new 333s but may not be possible with these routes? Is there a huge difference between the two in F? Read somewhere that upgrades are being carried out on the 343s. Does this mean the hard product is identical after the upgrades?

Thanks in advance!!

There's some discussion elsewhere in this forum that ZRH-PEK was originally going to be on the A333.

As far as I know there's currently no plan to install the new F on the A343.

But ZRH-PEK is going to be A343 due to schedule change. Unfortunately we cannot see A333 on PEK route until LX gets better slots in PEK.

I must be missing something but I cannot understand the relationship between A333/A343 and the slot. It was going to be A343 long before the schedule change was announced.

I was told by a crew member recently that westbound flights out of PEK in winter exceed the maximunim duration of the two pilots equipped 333. Hence a 3 pliots 340 is needed. ( i wonder why they cannot fit a third pilot in a 333).

Because the A333, in the LX configuration, does not have a crew bunk for the 3rd pilot to rest. @:-)

Consider if more than one seats in F on the 343, the ottoman can't slide backward when the seat goes into bed mode, not until it tried 10 times to reset the seat to upright, to bed mode, in order to make the ottoman moves, yes it is bad. (even a male FA from C come to use some force to push that ottoman but doesn't seem to work at all)

Many actually prefer it over the new F.

Here's looking forward to the startup of LX service to PEK (although the departure time from PEK is not comfortable)!
