Thank you. All of your assumptions are correct. Does the train make sense or are we better off in a taxi?

Take the train. If you thought trains were expensive in Switzerland, try a taxi

Exactly right--going rate seems to be about CHF300. Also a taxi likely won't be much faster. Really, the train is incredibly easy.
I would only consider a taxi if your mobility is very limited, or if you have a group of 3 or 4 and a lot of bags.
