Inside this thread, you'll see IBJoel noted as the original poster.
Since Joel mentioned time on board, I assumed it was referring to Original Member (of which there seems to be no designation). Perhaps it's just me, but think it's a bit silly to have an Original Poster badge. One can see who the OP was be reading the first post in the thread . I get the years, countries, miles thing, but don't see any value to having original poster listed.

Cheers.

When message threads get to be more than a few posts I find value in seeing who started the discussion. It's nt always relevant, but it is quite often.

Edit: Reading through this thread I'm thinking we need one more set of badges, number of most random and pathetic things complained about (Hall of Rants et al.)

BTW, I like the badges, nice job!

Auto-filling the badges with countries is a bug we're looking into

Look at the bright side: None of the badges say "ARG: 4 UNDEFINED"

Since the launch of this badge feature, about half the time when I try to create a new thread the thread gets created, but I'm not redirected to the new thread. I get an HTTP 500 error instead. This happens in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox on Windows and ChromeOS.

Just got one a few minutes ago when I created this thread - AA - RIC-ATL / ATL-RIC - $356 r/t - Domestic First - 240 TP

For what it's worth, the Original Poster indicator isn't new, but it does seem to have been re-styled at the same time badges were rolled out.

No, no 'Original Member' badge but that's because this is an FT title that appears under the member's username like the titles under yours & mine so this also was unaffected by the badge introduction. Original Members are still recognized as such.

I want to know, too!

I just noticed these badges today (just got back from vacation.) I have 30 countries - I'm not certain it is correct. I think 30 is too high.

I didnt have any badges previously and went into profile settings to select the one that made sense for me.

Where do you assign the countries in your profile? I looked at mine and don't see anywhere that I would specify where I've been?

They reported that some country badges were auto-assigned by a bug.

Just some words of encouragement - really awesome feature! Most of the feedback seems in relation to designing this feature so everyone has a common understanding of what the badges mean. You'll get there, love this forum. Cheers.
