New Bombardier Globals!

Bombardier launched a new family of Globals:
http://www.bombardier.com/en/corpora...01260d80139ba6
Global 7000 and 8000 keep the Global/Challenger/CRJ cabin, but with new wings and engines and bigger windows.

For comparison:
Existing Gulfstream 550:
Wingspan 28,5 m
Engines Rolls BR710, 15 835 lb /68,4 kN thrust each
MTOW 91 000 lb/41 278 kg
Cabin width 224 cm (maximum)
Cabin height 188 cm
Cabin length 13,39 m
Range 6000 nm/11 112km at M0,85, better range (6750nm/12 501 km) offered at M0,80.

Existing Bombardier Global XRS:
Wingspan 28,6 m
Engines Rolls BR710, 14 750 lb/65,6 kN thrust each
MTOW 98 000 lb/44 452 kg
Cabin width 249 cm (maximum)
Cabin height 191 cm
Cabin length 14,7 m
Range 6150 nm/11 390 km at M0,85.

Gulfstream 650 being test flown, to be delivered in 2012:
Wingspan 30,35 m
Engines Rolls BR725, 16 100 lb/71,6 kN each
MTOW 99 600 lb/45 179 kg
Cabin width 259 cm (maximum)
Cabin height 195 cm
Cabin length 14,27 m
Range 7000 nm/12 964 km at M0,85.

Global 7000 being developed, to be delivered in 2016:
Wingspan 31,79 m
Engines GE TechX, 16 500 lb/73,4 kN each
MTOW 106 250 lb/48 194 kg
Cabin width 249 cm (maximum)
Cabin height 191 cm
Cabin length 18,17 m
Range 7300 nm/13 520 km at M0,85.

Global 8000 being developed, to be delivered in 2017:
Wingspan 31,79 m
Engines GE TechX, 16 500 lb/73,4 kN each
Cabin width 249 cm (maximum)
Cabin height 191 cm
Cabin smaller than that of 7000
Range 7900 nm/14 631 km at M0,85.

So... until now, one problem with private jets has been that their range does not match that of top of the range widebody airliners, Airbus 340-600 and B777-300ER. On a bunch of long routes (11 000 km+) the alternatives are the discomfort or fuel stop or flying commercial. But with 14 631 km range of Global 8000, there are rather fewer scheduled routes it cannot fly.

Are you buying Global 8000 now, instead of longhaul First?
