Never thought of that, what a great idea! I normally use them when I deep condition my hair, but now I have another use - yay! The other thing I have used them for is around the bottom of paint cans when decorating to stop drip rings.

un opened bars of soap and little bottles of shampoo and cond.
I dont use any of the products the supply but I do take them, If I am there for multiply nights I put my shampoo away and bag the soap/shampoo they put out so I can get new ones to add to the list...
Every couple months I go by a local battered womens shelter. Its a shelter for Moms with kids to run to to escape unstable homes and I drop them off there..
I figure some of these women are there with there kids and literately have nothing due to running away from a bad situation. They seem to make use out of them and they go to someone that can use them.

I take the toiletry items (I love little sample sized things.:- especially at the W where they have Bliss products. I also take the plastic laundry bags for my dirty laundry and of course the pens.
Anything else I think would be wrong, besides, there's nothing else I'd want anyway.

I know we all take home soaps, conditioners and other bathroom ammenities. But where do we draw the line? Can we take towels? Bathrobes? Hangers?
What are you guilty of taking? Do you ever feel bad?
I'll start:
Other than the obvoius shampoo, etc... I have taken a few hangers (only when in need) and have only ever once taken a towel. I did feel kind of bad though.
I also took a really nice bathrobe from Caesar's Atlantic City, but that's the least they could give me

Other fixtures are meant for use, not consumption, like hangars and towels. Taking them is just tacky and petty.

Here's my drill ... I take one of the plastic laundry bags, clean out the little bottles of shampoo/cond/body wash ... these get tucked into the bottom of the suitcase. If it is a multi day stay, sometimes I clean it out more than once. Same for slippers. When I get back home, they go into a giant box I have in the garage. Once every few months, they go to the local community services where the love it and have asked me to remember to keep doing it.
Sometimes I take the box of kleenex and dump it in the rental car. Driving from A to B to C to D ... and eating/drinking along the way, its handy.
Now, ACCIDENTALLY, I have taken some strange stuff from the room ... came home one time and when unpacking, I found a cordless phone handset in my things!! Took me a while and lots of calling around to figure out which hotel it belonged to. Somehow they did not even think of "charging" me for it! I mailed it back with a sheepish apology anyway!

You realize no matter what kind of mess, you can still wash it dry it, anything would be killed even bed bugs ! And if the mess still left on the towel after washing it, they would throw them away instead of putting up on the rack.
I have never taken a hotel towel or encourage anyone to do it, but you seems to imply we shouldn't be even using it afterall in the rooms.

Dont be so cynical. You know the difference. Like you can stand it when you make a mess of your room, but will find it hard to bear others messy rooms. For me, its no problem to wash my towel and use it again no matter how dirty it used to be, but no hotel towel! I always take these things myself when I have to stay out. Its not painting the lily.

I sometimes do the reverse and bring my own.
I take the toiletries if they're brands I like and the slippers. I also tend to throw small notepads into my bag. They come in handy and if it's been a good trip, seeing the hotel's name will make me smile when I see it.
