Do US Airlines Hire Foreign-trained Pilots?
Hello all, new member here.
I have a question. I am thinking about starting pilot training and would like some feedback from you more experienced folks. I hope this is the right forum for this and, if not, can you please point me to which one I should be posting this question?
Ok, so background: I have dual citizenship, American and Brazilian. I am thinking about doing pilot training in Brazil because it`s cheaper for me, and there is a huge airline hiring boom in Brazil which is great for building hours, but eventually I'd like to fly for a US airline. Question is, would the FAA accept a Brazilian-issued license and type rating? Would US airlines hire me, assuming I meet all their qualifications and the job market improves?

Try asking your question here. You will probably get a more accurate response. I know a PPL issued by an ICAO member country can be transferred to the US. Not sure what the process is for licenses like ATP.
