Transcontinental flat-bed flights on UA - How do I find them?

I am planning a family vacation in paid J, and most of the flights I am looking at through EWR or IAD (from SFO).

Sporadically, I come across a 767 or a 757-200 (flat bed) configuration or even a 777 but it's not on a regular schedule/

What is the best way to find dates and routes that have flat beds for SFO-EWR or SFO - IAD (and vice versa)?

Any tools that I should look at or is it trial and error?

Any tips would be appreciated!

Thanks

All sCO 757s are flat-bed, for a start. One can tell based on the flight number.

But you should not book based on airplane type - they can and will change.

The only guarantee of flat-beds in a transcon is SFO/LAX-JFK. (once p.s. is fully converted).

Yes. But I am seeing the occurrence of these airplanes reducing in the last 1 year. I think last year, I could see atleast 1 sCO 757 almost daily.

I realize there's a potential for a change, but I am OK with that as anyways my chances of getting a flat bed are limited. p.s. is an option, but flying through JFK is a lot more expensive on J than EWR, atleast on the routes I am looking at.

Ah, that's probably because then you have a JFK to EWR break, or have to take other *A from JFK.

Flat-bed isn't worth the schlep from JFK-EWR.

Lately, you'll have better luck finding the flatbed to/from LAX-EWR and not SFO.

I did and I keep monitoring threads too. Couldn't find much, hence posted. Maybe my searching wasn't correct?

Incorrect, sCO has a substantial fleet of non-flatbed 757s.

Except, as others have noted, for the 753, which will have a sCO flight number but NOT flat-bed seats. Only noting because the 753 is found frequently on the SFO-IAD route the OP suggested he was looking at.

OP - wait and book the flight a day or two before your departure, that will decrease the chances that your aircraft will be swapped. Other than that it's P.S. or roll the dice...

Ah, I was thinking of the 752's specifically.

Good point re the 753, which shows up a lot in IAD.
