Has anyone ever tried to use the JetKids BedBox on a United flight? I am considering purchasing one, but would like to see if anyone has anyU nited success stories before I make the purchase. Thanks!

United does not permit these on their flights - https://www.united.com/ual/en/us/fly...s/infants.html (see bottom of page).

Whether or not you agree with UA's policy on these things I have to say Im impressed that it is stated so clearly, and right in the section prospective travellers-with-kids would be looking!

I just saw someone using JetKids BedBox last week on my UA flight. At that point, I did not know it was not allowed.

Nevertheless, regardless UA prohibits this or not, JetKids BedBox would be counted as a carry-on item. I would believe it would be a PITA to bring this on a flight.

I think this is a new prohibition. We've had a Fly Tot for a while. Haven't used it for maybe 6 months or so. Haven't checked the page for a bit, but I'm positive when we bought it, about 2 years ago, it wasn't there, because I'm 100% sure I checked then.

That said, as I mentioned, probably haven't used it for at least 6 months - our older kid is almost 4 so is really too big to use it now, and our little one is too small. That said, we've used it on multiple flights in the past without an issue. Never had a flight attendant say a word, but always been responsible and, per the directions, use in the window seat so as not to impede an exit for anyone. Quite frankly, with that notation (just like with car seats), I'm not sure why they feel it's unsafe. I'd actually be curious to know. IME, its also low enough not to impede recline of the seat in front. And has helped our kid sleep much better on flights longer than a couple of hours.

Don't know if JetKids is different, I'd be surprised if it was too much so, but our FlyTot is basically like an air mattress, so compresses quite small when not in use, and we've kept it in our diaper bag in the past, or a small knapsack. It comes with.a foot pump that is used to inflate, or you can just do it without that - we've done that before too. In fact, you're supposed to bring on board un-inflated, and only put air in and set it up at 10000 feet (or maybe cruise, can't remember exactly). Like I said, has worked well for us.
